Webparts are an important feature of Sharepoint.In this issue, I’d like to talk about how they benefit end-users.

If you have been reading previous issues of the Weekly Sharepointer, you will know that webparts are a way of customizing Sharepoint sites.

To link two sharepoint lists you need to create one list with a “look up” column.

First, create the list that will be the parent list – the list to which the other will be linked. If you want to create an inventory list of items and their owners, you will need to first create the list of owners. If your list already exists of course there is no need to create it again. Just know that both the lists have to be within the same site.

This week we’ll take a look at what kind of customization you can do for your site without involving your corporate standards team veto your requests.
